Meet the women who are guiding 100+ Women Who Care NOTL for 2025-2026. Our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of these women who care about our community. Thank you, ladies!
History of 100 WWC
The 100 Women Who Care movement was founded by Karen Dunigan in November 2006 in Jackson, Michigan, to rapidly raise money for local charities. At the first meeting, over 100 women each donated $100 to raise over $12,800 for new baby cribs for a local organization. This simple, effective model has since grown into hundreds of chapters worldwide, with variations including men's, kids', and teens' groups.

Starting 100+ Women Who Care NOTL with Penny and Audrey has shown me how powerful local women can be when we come together around a shared purpose. For me, it’s all about community, kindness, and the belief that small actions CAN create a big impact. What I love most is how connected everyone feels — not only to each other, but to the causes we’re supporting. I’m so proud of how quickly this group has come together and how eager everyone is to give back! We’re very excited to watch the movement grow.

I was inspired some 15 years ago to join a chapter of 100 women in New Brunswick. It is so gratifying to see the concept here in Niagara. Not only does the group help raise awareness of such worthy causes in our community, but it brings together the powerful gift of collective giving to make a huge difference.

We were inspired by the success of 100 Women groups across Canada and quickly realized that the model was a perfect fit for the women of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Although we have already surpassed 100 members, we have no plans to cap participation. We all believe that the greater our numbers, the deeper our impact on the community. By launching this local chapter with Penny and Julia, we’ve brought together our individual strengths to create an environment where women can connect, learn, and make a meaningful impact.
